Pawtucket-Central Falls Transit Center A robust combination of commuter rail and bus service is easing travel for many Rhode Islanders while supporting economic development. Reached Record-Low Unemployment Rate In April and July 2022, Rhode Island again attained its lowest recorded unemployment rate of 2.7%—a feat previously reached only in 1988. $251 Million Secured for the Largest Bridge Project in State History 15 bridges will be removed from the state’s backlog of poor and fair to poor condition bridges along I-95 and Route 10 between Providence and Warwick – a critical corridor which carries 185,000 vehicles daily. Grant Programs for Minority-owned Businesses The Minority Business Accelerator grant program gives up to $20,000 to eligible women- and minority-owned businesses to grow footprint in Rhode Island. One of 10 States to Launch Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics One of 10 states implementing a federal demonstration project, the eight clinics launched this fall will provide behavioral health, and crisis supports to more people in real time, regardless of ability to pay. Connecting Rhode Islanders to Internet Rhode Island secured $108 million to upgrade or install high-speed Internet networks to ensure Rhode Islanders have reliable, affordable, high-speed internet service. Going Green on Rhode Island’s Busiest Bus Line Rhode Island’s first in-line electric bus charging station will power the entire R-Line fleet and cut emissions. Signed Legislation to Support LGBTQ+ Community Rhode Island affirms its status as an inclusive state for all through LGBTQ+ legislation. Protected Access to Reproductive Health Care This important Executive Order ensures that those seeking services will be protected from legal liability from other states. RI on the Big Screen Thanks to our scenery and incentives, productions like “Hocus Pocus 2,” “The Gilded Age,” and “Ella McKay” have filmed in Rhode Island. New of the NOAA’s Marine Operations Center Siting this new facility in the Ocean State will bolster Rhode Island’s climate-resiliency infrastructure and support our blue economy. $35M in rate relief on utility bills for families and businesses Provides Rhode Islanders with a rebate for the 4 percent gross receipts tax on their electric bills and 3 percent gross receipts tax on their natural gas bills. Investing in Clean Energy Revolution Wind Revolution Wind is the first working offshore wind farm in the U.S. and will power 263,000 RI homes. $46 Million to the Port of Galillee This key investment supports the 4th highest value fishing port on the East Coast. $27 Million for RhodeRestore Improvement Projects Over two years’ time, the McKee Administration’s matching grant program will result in $100 million in municipal road repairs across Rhode Island. 1 2
