Signed Comprehensive Gun Safety Legislation into Law

Legislation includes banning large-capacity magazines, raising age minimum to purchase firearms or ammunition to 21, prohibiting open carry of loaded rifles or shotguns in public, ensuring firearms must be safely secured and banning the sale of assault weapons. 

Climbed 10 Spots in the “Best States” Ranking

RI has climbed 10 spots to #24 in the U.S. News & World Report “Best States” ranking. Our economy has climbed 12 spots from #28 to #16. 

Set New RI Tourism Records

A record-breaking 29.4 million visitors came to RI in 2024.  

Doubled the Number of “Science Research and Development” Jobs

Average salaries in this industry grew from $105,000 to $175,000 over five years. 

Advanced Pawtucket’s Tidewater Landing Development

Cast the tie-breaking vote for the Centreville Bank Stadium and recently announced the next phase of economic development in the area.  

Launched a $6.7M Program to Recruit and Retain Primary Care Doctors

Provided grants to 85 primary care practices to recruit new doctors and expand their capacity to take on more patients. 

Saved Our Lady of Fatima Hospital and Roger Williams Medical Center from Closing

Worked with state leaders to ensure health services for the community and protect over 2,000 jobs.  

Launched Ocean State Labs

Through the state’s first Life Science Hub, launched a new life science business incubator in the heart of the 195 District. 

Invested in Bristol’s Unity Park

Positioned Unity Park as a center of blue-economy innovation, including the expansion of local businesses: Flux Marine and VATN systems.  

Supported SNAP Recipients During Federal Government Shutdown

Leveraged existing funding to provide benefits to Rhode Islanders in dire need of food assistance.

Facilitated an End to the Butler Hospital Strike

Negotiated behind the scenes with hospital and union leadership. 

Opened Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics

Providing access behavioral health, and crisis supports to more people in real time, regardless of their ability to pay.  

Built a New State Health Lab

Funded through a CDC grant, the laboratories support public health research, testing and response to emerging health issues. 

Passed the Single Largest Housing Bond in RI History

Worked with the General Assembly to make a $120M bond available to build more housing.  

Established Permanent Funding for Homelessness Supports

The Governor proposed and passed two permanent, recurring sources of state funding dedicated to homelessness services and supports. 

Invested in Permanent Supportive Housing

Invested in the state’s first permanent supportive housing complex for formerly homeless adults with medical vulnerabilities. 

Opening 21 Community Learning Centers Across RI

Provided $82M in grants to open centers for out-of-school learning, adult education, workforce development, and health monitoring. 

Wall Street Journal Named URI Best Public University in New England

Through strong leadership and significant investments in URI infrastructure, the state’s flagship university received national recognition two years in a row. 

Opened RI Reconnect Center

Helped 6,450 current and prospective college students overcome barriers and navigate higher education opportunities. 

Signed the Equality in Abortion Coverage Act

Ensured state-funded health insurance plans cover abortion services and eliminate restrictions that previously excluded coverage from state employee health insurance and Medicaid.  

Signed Law Enforcement Officers’ Bill of Rights Reform

LEOBOR allows greater transparency while safeguarding officers’ rights to due process.
