Executive Order 20-34

Thirty-first Supplemental Emergency Declaration – Extension of Various Executive Orders

WHEREAS, on March 9, 2020, I issued Executive Order 20-02 declaring a state of emergency due to the dangers to health and life posed by COVID-19 and that Order has been extended until at least June 5, 2020;

WHEREAS, on March 23, 2020, I issued Executive Order 20-11 postponing the April 28, 2020 date set for election of delegates to the national conventions and the presidential preference primary (collectively, the "Primary") until June 2, 2020;

WHEREAS, on April 17, 2020, I issued Executive Order 20-27 extending Executive Order 20-11 and setting out necessary steps to implement the holding of a predominantly mail ballot Primary on June 2, 2020;

WHEREAS, on April 15, 2020, I issued Executive Order 20-25 further enabling remote public meetings and providing additional relief relating to managing public records requests and appeals, both topics as initially addressed by Executive Order 20-05; and

WHEREAS, on April 15, 2020, I issued Executive Order 20-26 providing support for young adults aging out of state care.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GINA M. RAIMONDO, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, pursuant to Article IX of the Rhode Island Constitution and the Rhode Island General Laws, including, but not limited to, Title 30, Chapter 15, and Title 23, Chapter 8, do hereby extend the following Executive Orders:

  1. Executive Order 20-11 (Ninth Supplemental Emergency Declaration - Delaying the Primary Elections and Preparing for a Predominantly Mail Ballot Election).

     
  2. Executive Order 20-27 (Twenty-Fourth Supplemental Emergency Declaration - Further Preparations for a Predominantly Mail Ballot Election).

     
  3. Executive Order 20-25 (Twenty-Second Supplemental Emergency Declaration - Public Meetings and Public Records Requests).

     
  4. Executive Order 20-26 (Twenty-Third Supplemental Emergency Declaration - Support for Young Adults Aging Out of State Care).

These Executive Orders shall remain in full force and effect until June 14, 2020, unless renewed, modified or terminated by subsequent Executive Orders.
