Executive Order 21-61

One Hundred and Sixty-Fourth Supplemental Emergency Declaration - Extension of and First Amendment to Executive Order 20-70

WHEREAS, on March 9, 2020, Executive Order 20-02 was issued for a declaration of a state of emergency due to the dangers to health and life posed by COVID-19 and that Order has been extended to remain in effect until at least June 10, 2021; and

WHEREAS, on September 2, 2020, Executive Order 20-70 was issued on Hospital and Community-Based Health Care and that Order has been extended until May 31, 2021.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DANIEL J. MCKEE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Rhode Island, pursuant to Article IX of the Rhode Island Constitution and the Rhode Island General Laws, including, but not limited to, Title 30, Chapter 15 do hereby order as follows:

  1. Executive Order 20-70 (Sixty-Fifth Supplemental Emergency Declaration - Hospital and Community-Based Health Care) is hereby extended.
  2. Paragraphs 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of Executive Order 20-70 under the heading of «Statutory Immunity for Responding Hospitals, Health Care Workers and Others" are hereby deleted in their entirety.
  3. The heading of "Statutory Immunity for Responding Hospitals, Health Care Workers and Others" preceding paragraph 9 of Executive Order 20-70 is hereby deleted in its entirety.
  4. All other provisions of the Executive Order 20-70 shall remain unchanged and continue to be applicable.

This Executive Order shall take effect on June 1, 2021 and remain in full force and effect through June 30, 2021 unless renewed, modified, or terminated by a subsequent Executive Order.
