Executive Order 24-02 Extension of Executive Order 23-11 January 26, 2024 WHEREAS, on December 29, 2023, I issued Executive Order 23-11 declaring a nursing home state of emergency; WHEREAS, Executive Order 23-11 suspended the nursing home Minimum Staffing Law, R.I. Gen. Laws § 23-17.5-33; WHEREAS, the conditions that necessitated Executive Order 23-11 continue unabated; NOW, THEREFORE, I, DANIEL J. MCKEE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Rhode Island, pursuant to Article IX of the Rhode Island Constitution and the Rhode Island General Laws, including, but not limited to, Title 30, Chapter 15, do hereby extend the following Executive Order: Executive Order 23-11 (Declaration of Nursing Home Emergency). This Executive Order shall take effect on January 29, 2024 and shall remain in full force and effect through February 28, 2024 unless extended, modified or terminated by subsequent Executive Order.
