AttendanceMattersRI: Governor McKee, Commissioner Infante-Green Recognize Weekly Attendance Leaders and Improved Schools (Week of March 24, 2024) Published on Tuesday, April 02, 2024 PROVIDENCE, RI – Acknowledging the importance of consistent attendance in education and in alignment with the #AttendanceMatters campaign, Governor Dan McKee and Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green are pleased to highlight the top elementary, middle, and high schools with the greatest average weekly attendance. The following schools are Rhode Island’s attendance leaders for the week of March 24, 2024*: Elementary: Charlestown Elementary School, Chariho Regional School District – 96.7% Middle: Scituate Middle School – 95.4% High: East Greenwich High School – 96% Special recognition is extended to the following schools for demonstrating the most improved average attendance rates from the previous week: Elementary: Oakland Beach Elementary School, Warwick – 5.4% Middle: Kickemuit Middle School, Bristol Warren Regional School District – 2.3% High: Woonsocket High School – 2.2% The Governor and Commissioner express their gratitude and encouragement to all schools in Rhode Island for their ongoing efforts to prioritize attendance and reinforce the value of consistent learning experiences for all students. *As of Tuesday, April 2 at 6 a.m. **Schools with multiple grade levels (i.e. elementary and middle school) are categorized by RIDE by their largest population
