AttendanceMattersRI: Governor McKee, Commissioner Infante-Green Recognize Weekly Attendance Leaders and Improved Schools (Week of April 1, 2024)

PROVIDENCE, RI – Acknowledging the importance of consistent attendance in education and in alignment with the #AttendanceMatters campaign, Governor Dan McKee and Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green are pleased to highlight the top elementary, middle, and high schools with the greatest average weekly attendance. 

The following schools are Rhode Island’s attendance leaders for the week of April 1, 2024*: 

  • Elementary: Clayville Elementary School, Scituate – 96.9%
  • Middle: Times² STEM Academy**, Providence – 97.9%
  • High: Classical High School, Providence – 96.9% 

Special recognition is extended to the following schools for demonstrating the most improved average attendance rates from the previous week:  

  • Elementary: Kent Heights School, East Providence – 8.2%
  • Middle: Joseph Jenks Middle School, Pawtucket – 5.8% 
  • High: Sheila "Skip" Nowell Leadership Academy, Providence – 13.7%

The Governor and Commissioner express their gratitude and encouragement to all schools in Rhode Island for their ongoing efforts to prioritize attendance and reinforce the value of consistent learning experiences for all students.
