AttendanceMattersRI: Governor McKee, Commissioner Infante-Green Recognize Weekly Attendance Leaders and Improved Schools

Week of March 17, 2025
PROVIDENCE, RI — Acknowledging the importance of consistent attendance in education and in alignment with the #AttendanceMattersRI campaign, Governor Dan McKee and Commissioner Angélica Infante-Green are pleased to highlight the top elementary, middle, and high schools with the greatest average weekly attendance.
The following schools are Rhode Island’s attendance leaders for the week of March 17, 2025*:
- Elementary: Oak Lawn School, Cranston – 97.3%
- Middle: Portsmouth Middle School – 96.1%
- High School: Exeter-West Greenwich Regional High School – 94.6%
Special recognition is extended to the following schools for demonstrating the most improved average attendance rates from the previous week:
- Elementary: Nuestro Mundo Public Charter School** - 4.5%
- Middle: Narragansett Pier School – 4.5%
- High School: YouthBuild Preparatory Academy School – 11.1%
The Governor and Commissioner express their gratitude and encouragement to all schools in Rhode Island for their ongoing efforts to prioritize attendance and reinforce the value of consistent learning experiences for all students.
