Governor McKee Appoints Three to Serve on Judicial Nominating Commission

PROVIDENCE, RI — Today, Governor Dan McKee announced his appointment of Rebecca Partington and Ajie Saho to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission. The Governor also appointed David A. Holley, who, in accordance with state statute, was selected from a list of nominees submitted to the Governor by the Senate Minority Leader.
“The Judicial Nominating Commission plays a crucial role, ensuring that qualified, ethical individuals are selected to uphold the rule of law in our state,” said Governor Dan McKee. “I’m proud to nominate these leaders to the JNC, where they will help ensure that justice is served fairly and effectively across Rhode Island.”
The JNC is an independent, nonpartisan body responsible for recommending highly qualified candidates for all judicial appointments. The Commission was created in 1994 and is composed of nine Rhode Island residents. All Commissioners serve as volunteers.
Rebecca T. Partington has decades of legal experience and currently works at DeSisto Law in Providence. She previously served for more than 30 years in the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General, most recently as the Deputy Chief and Chief of the Civil Division.
Partington worked as an adjunct professor at Rhode Island College from 2012 to 2020 and is a member of the Rhode Island Supreme Court’s Ethics Advisory Panel. Rebecca earned her J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law in 1984.
Ajie Saho is a healthcare executive and Registered Nurse with years of leadership experience. Ajie is the CEO of Global Homecare and Staffing, where she leads a team of over 300 clinical and administrative staff.
Saho volunteers with the MAE Organization, where she helps to support homeless and underprivileged individuals. Ajie received her Registered Nurse (RN) degree from New England Institute of Technology in 2018.
David A. Holley has more than 30 years of investigative and risk consulting experience. David serves as an advisor to corporations, law firms, audit committees, special committees or boards of directors and their counsel.
David is a graduate of the Roger Williams University School of Law and Boston University. He is also a member of the International Association of Independent Compliance Monitors, a Senior Fellow with the Regulatory Compliance Association and a Certified ISO 37001 Lead Auditor.
