Governor McKee Denounces Trump Administration’s Termination of Solar for All Program that Supports Clean, Affordable Energy

Published on Tuesday, August 12, 2025

PROVIDENCE, RI — Today, Governor Dan McKee issued the following statement in response to the Environmental Protection Agency’s termination of the federal Solar for All grant program nationwide.

“The Solar for All program was created to lower long-term energy costs for Rhode Islanders, support good-paying jobs in the solar industry, and expand our state’s energy portfolio—efforts that are good for our state’s economy and our environment.

Now, the Trump Administration is once again trying to undermine programs that support Rhode Island families by terminating a legally awarded and obligated $49.3 million federal grant.

We’re working closely with our partner states and will pursue every appropriate channel to protect these funds—and the clean, affordable energy progress they support—for all Rhode Island families and workers.”
