Published on Friday, May 30, 2025
PROVIDENCE, RI — Governor Dan McKee today issued the following statement in response to stalled negotiations between Butler Hospital and the union:
“As I said before this strike began, my priority as Governor is the health and well-being of all Rhode Islanders. In a letter to hospital leadership and the union, I urged both parties to immediately return to the bargaining table and reach a fair and timely agreement. These negotiations must be guided by respect, good faith, and a commitment to those who rely on the crucial services provided at Butler Hospital.
Our team at the Department of Health remains on the ground, closely monitoring the situation to ensure the hospital remains safe and that patients continue to receive the care they need.”
