PROVIDENCE, RI – Today, Governor Dan McKee announced the truck travel ban enacted over the weekend that prohibited tractor trailers and other large commercial vehicles from traveling in Rhode Island will be lifted effective at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026.
“When winter weather strikes, it takes all of us to ensure safety on the roads and efficiency in our snow removal—and that’s exactly what we had,” said Governor McKee. “I’d like to thank the hard-working crews and snowplows for their efforts, as well as our truck drivers for following the guidance.”
Rhode Islanders are still urged to use caution when driving on all state highways and local roads, and are encouraged to stay up to date on the latest weather information.
