PROVIDENCE, RI — Today, Governor Dan McKee announced his nomination of Kevin J. Farrell to serve on the Rhode Island Commerce Board.
Farrell has nearly 40 years of banking experience in Rhode Island and currently works as the Chief Lending Officer and Executive Vice President for Coastal1 Credit Union in Pawtucket. He is responsible for overseeing all lending activities across the bank’s $3 billion loan portfolio while also leading a team of relationship managers, underwriters, and loan administrators.
“Kevin’s experience, knowledge of Rhode Island’s financial sector, and executive leadership background will make him a valuable addition to the Commerce Board,” said Governor Dan McKee. “I look forward to working with Kevin and the team to continue our momentum in attracting new businesses and building on the more than 37,000 we’ve added under my administration.”
Prior to this role, Farrell served as Senior Vice President for 25 years across three different financial institutions: Customers Bank, Sovereign Bank/Banco Santander, and Fleet Bank/Bank of America.
Outside of his banking career, Farrell is the Treasurer of the Rhode Island Mortgage Bankers Association’s Board of Directors and also works on the audit committee for St. Jude Parish in Lincoln. He is a 1987 graduate of Providence College with a bachelor's in economics.
“I’m honored by Governor McKee’s trust and grateful for the opportunity to serve,” said Farrell. “I look forward to working with others to support Rhode Island’s economic growth.”
Farrell’s name has been submitted to the Rhode Island Senate for advice and consent.
