Governor McKee, Rhode Island Commerce and AAA Northeast Celebrate 370 New Insurance Jobs Coming to Rhode Island

LINCOLN, RI — On Monday, Governor Dan McKee was joined by Rhode Island Secretary of Commerce Stefan Pryor, AAA Northeast CEO John Galvin, state legislators, local leaders and AAA Northeast employees to highlight the new Motor Club Insurance Company's (MCIC) 21,000 square-foot space in Lincoln, a major expansion of business operations bringing in an estimated 370 new jobs to Rhode Island over the next decade.

“Rhode Island is a destination location for growing businesses like the Motor Club Insurance Company, and I’m proud of the work we’ve done to attract and retain top-tier companies and talented professionals,” said Governor McKee. “Good-paying jobs are the key to a strong economy, and we’ll continue to make strategic investments and create more opportunities for our state.”

Since Governor McKee took office, Rhode Island has added more than 37,000 private sector jobs and more than 6 million square feet in development space.

“Expanding MCIC with these new full-time roles underscores our strong belief in Rhode Island's talent and reinforces our long-term commitment to the state's growth. AAA Northeast has deep roots in Rhode Island, and we're excited to continue opening doors to meaningful careers here in the future,” said AAA Northeast CEO John Galvin.

MCIC is a Rhode Island-based insurance company that provides auto, home, and umbrella insurance to AAA Northeast members. Last fall, MCIC was awarded tax credit incentives [zk8ngbyab.cc.rs6.net] to support these expansion efforts.

Rhode Island’s Qualified Jobs Incentive Tax Credit Program offers businesses incentives to land and grow in Rhode Island, expanding their workforce while reducing costs. Companies that create new positions or relocate jobs to the state can receive annual, redeemable tax credits for up to 10 years, with credits of up to $7,500 per job per year.

Designed to support both emerging and established businesses, the Qualified Jobs Incentive Tax Credit Program helps offset the costs of hiring, enabling companies to scale operations while lowering their tax burden.

“We are proud to welcome MCIC to Lincoln,” said Secretary of Commerce Stefan Pryor. “Investment tools such as Commerce’s Qualified Jobs program help companies make decisions in favor of Rhode Island — landing and expanding their operations here. These moves contribute to our state’s momentum and advance our economic growth.”
