PROVIDENCE, RI – Governor Dan McKee today issued the following statement on Revolution Wind delivering its first power into the electric grid system, marking a major milestone for the 704-megawatt project.

“Today’s milestone marks an important step forward for Rhode Island's energy future. Offshore wind is part of our state’s all-of-the-above energy strategy, one that strengthens our energy supply and supports long-term reliability for residents and businesses.

We will see this project through to the end for the benefit of Rhode Island's families, workers, and businesses. This is our energy, our future, and we will get it done.”

The Revolution Wind offshore wind system is currently 93 percent complete and remains on track to be fully operational in the second half of 2026.
