PROVIDENCE, RI— Governor Dan McKee today issued the following statement regarding ongoing contract negotiations between Teamsters Local 251 and First Student, a private school bus company serving several Rhode Island communities:

“My team has been in direct contact with both First Student and the Teamsters. We have urged both parties to reach a fair and swift resolution in the best interest of students, families and drivers.

We have offered our assistance in any way that could help the parties reach a resolution quickly. We understand both sides will be at the bargaining table tomorrow, and we will continue to stay engaged and closely monitor the situation.”
